Description

Rayon is a manufactured fiber composed of regenerated cellulose in which substitutes have replaced not more than 15% of the hydrogens of the hydroxyl groups.

Tensile Strength 30,000 to 46,000 lb/sq. in.
Moisture Regain 11% (70°F (20°C), 60% rh)
Effect of Heat Decomposes at 365°F to 400°F (185°C to 205°C). Does not melt or become tacky.
Acceptance of Dye Receptive to a all cotton dyestuffs. Available in a limited number of solution-dyed colors.
Resistance to Sunlight No discoloration. Long-term exposure causes loss of tensile that is worse as the TiO2 level increases.
General Good abrasion resistance. Attacked by mildew. Acids and alkalis may weaken or swell fibers.
